US President Donald Trump has reportedly said that talks between Washington and Tehran could resume within the next two days, according to a report published by the New York Post.
The report quoted Trump as saying the United States was “more inclined” to return to Pakistan for discussions, suggesting Islamabad could again serve as a venue for diplomatic engagement.
“You should stay there, really, because something could be happening over the next two days,” he was quoted as saying. “We’re more inclined to go there.”
He further stated that Pakistan was a preferred location due to its role in facilitating dialogue, adding that there was “no need to go to a country that has nothing to do with it.”
Trump also praised Pakistan’s military leadership, referring to the Field Marshal as playing a strong role in supporting diplomatic efforts.
The remarks come amid unconfirmed reports that US and Iranian negotiating teams may return to Islamabad later this week following recent talks in the Pakistani capital.
However, the statements have not yet been independently verified by official US or Pakistani authorities.
