Turkish Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci said Monday that authorities have completed security preparations ahead of the 36th NATO Leaders Summit, covering airports, venues, transport routes, cybersecurity, and public order risks.

In a post on US social media platform X, Ciftci said he chaired a high-level meeting at the Interior Ministry to review final arrangements for the two-day summit, which begins Tuesday in Ankara.

He said Türkiye’s hosting of one of the most important gatherings in international diplomacy at a time of global challenges represents a significant achievement.

“This success reflects the leadership of our President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, his commitment to peace and diplomacy, Türkiye’s growing international standing, and the state’s institutional capacity,” Ciftci said.

“Our responsibility is to make the strongest possible contribution through the security dimension,” he added.

He noted that all security aspects had been addressed in detail, including airports, summit venues, accommodation sites, transport routes, cybersecurity systems, and public order risks.

Ciftci said relevant institutions, particularly police and gendarmerie units, will operate in full coordination to ensure security throughout the summit.

Authorities will maintain heightened alert levels during the event as NATO leaders gather in Ankara
