Türkiye’s Sabri Ülker Foundation has launched a four-year international research partnership with Newcastle University in the UK and Hacettepe University in Türkiye to advance child health studies and support young scientists.
The initiative will focus on childhood nutrition, physical activity, metabolic health, cognitive performance, and mental well-being among school-age children through comparative research in Türkiye and the United Kingdom.
The program will support three doctoral researchers and include academic exchanges, joint training initiatives, and annual scientific symposiums hosted alternately by both countries.
Sabri Ülker Foundation Chairman Yahya Ülker said the partnership would establish a sustainable scientific platform where researchers from different countries collaborate, share knowledge, and prepare future research leaders.
Professor Bernard Corfe of Newcastle University’s Human Nutrition and Health department highlighted the importance of international and interdisciplinary cooperation in addressing global health challenges.
The collaboration aims to strengthen scientific ties between Türkiye and the UK while contributing to a better understanding of factors affecting children’s health and development worldwide.
