MOSCOW, Nov. 30 — Two civilians were killed and two others injured after a series of Ukrainian drone strikes targeted Russia’s Belgorod border region on Sunday, according to local authorities.
Officials reported that in the village of Beryozovka, located in the Borisovsky district, a drone struck a vehicle, killing two men instantly. Emergency teams responded to the scene, confirming both fatalities.
In a separate incident in the Grayvoron district, another drone exploded, injuring a man who was transported to hospital in serious condition with multiple shrapnel wounds. A woman with facial burns was also admitted for treatment.
Regional authorities said that five municipalities in total were affected by the wave of drone attacks, resulting in damage to private residences, vehicles, and several outbuildings. Assessments of structural and property losses are ongoing.
Earlier in the day, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that its air defense units had intercepted and shot down 230 aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles within a 24-hour period, amid heightened cross-border tensions.
Local officials stated that security measures in the Belgorod region have been reinforced as emergency services continue to respond to the aftermath of the attacks.
