UAV Spray Technology Workshop Promotes Precision Agriculture Cotton

Multan: Muhammad Nawaz Sharif University of Agriculture, Multan, in collaboration with Bayer Pakistan and CropLife Pakistan, organized a one-day technical workshop and live field demonstration on UAV Spray Technology for Effective Insect Pest Management in Cotton.

Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Asif Ali (Tamgha-e-Imtiaz) said that precision agriculture technologies, particularly drone-based spraying, are essential for improving crop productivity, reducing production costs, and ensuring environmental sustainability. He emphasized that collaboration between academia and industry is vital for transferring modern agricultural technologies to farmers.

Experts from Bayer Crop Science delivered technical presentations on smart farming, drone-assisted crop protection, and best practices for UAV spray operations. A live drone spraying demonstration, conducted in collaboration with Al Karam Farm Technologies at the University’s Cotton Research Field, showcased the accuracy, efficiency, and effectiveness of UAV technology for cotton pest management.

Participants, including scientists, faculty members, researchers, students, Agriculture Department officials, and extension professionals, appreciated the initiative and termed the workshop a significant step toward promoting precision agriculture and sustainable crop protection in Pakistan
