RAMALLAH/GAZA: At least 16 Palestinians were injured and more than 60 others were arrested during an Israeli military operation in the Qalandiya refugee camp north of Jerusalem on Thursday, Palestinian sources said.
The Palestinian Red Crescent Society said its teams treated the injured and evacuated several patients. Palestinian authorities also reported that Israeli forces demolished shops near the Qalandiya military checkpoint and closed the main road, disrupting movement.
The Palestinian Prisoners Club said those detained included women and children. The Palestinian Presidency condemned the operation, calling it a violation of international law and urging the international community to intervene.
Separately, the Hamas-run media office in Gaza alleged thousands of Israeli ceasefire violations over the past 300 days, claiming more than 1,200 Palestinians were killed and over 4,100 injured.
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Egypt issued a joint statement condemning Israeli actions in Gaza, particularly attacks on healthcare facilities and civilian infrastructure, warning the situation threatens regional stability and worsens the humanitarian crisis.
