Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said he held coordination calls with French President Emmanuel Macron and US President Donald Trump to discuss developments following the G7 Summit and efforts aimed at advancing peace.
In a statement posted on social media platform X, Zelenskyy described the discussions as an important step in strengthening cooperation and diplomatic engagement. He said the conversations focused on the outcomes of the G7 Summit and future efforts to support Ukraine.
Zelenskyy thanked Trump for his attention to Ukraine and what he described as a willingness to help advance peace efforts. He also expressed appreciation to Macron for organizing the G7 gathering and for continued cooperation with Kyiv.
“We are working to strengthen Ukraine, our cooperation and diplomatic prospects. We need peace, and we are doing everything to bring it closer,” Zelenskyy said.
The Ukrainian leader emphasized the importance of coordination among international partners as efforts continue to promote stability and support diplomatic initiatives.
The calls took place during the three-day G7 Summit in Evian-les-Bains, France, which concluded on Wednesday. The summit focused on global security, economic cooperation and other international challenges, including the situation in Ukraine.
