MIRPUR ( AJK): Sept 23: Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Raja Saeed Akram Khan has approved phased expansion of digital systems at the apex court to streamline judicial and administrative processes and provide faster, more transparent services to lawyers and litigants, it was officially said.
The AJk Chief Justice on Wednesday chaired a meeting held in the State metropolis to review ongoing efforts for digital transformation and technological modernization of judicial and administrative affairs”, authorotative official sources told APP AJK Correspondent Wednesday evening.
Senior Judge Justice Raza Ali Khan, Justice Khalid Yousaf Chaudhry, Registrar Supreme Court and other relevant officers attended the meeting, which began with the recitation of the Holy Quran.
The Director IT briefed the Chief Justice and judges on modern software and digital systems introduced or under development at the Supreme Court, including the Public Facilitation Portal, Executive Dashboard, Library Management System, Accounts Software, Network Operations Centre and e-Courts.
The meeting was informed that these digital initiatives were aimed at making judicial and administrative processes more efficient, expeditious and transparent while providing improved services to lawyers and litigants.
The Chief Justice appreciated the progress made so far in digital development and approved the phased completion of ongoing projects and wider use of modern software and digital systems, the sources said.
Addressing the meeting, Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan said a Public Facilitation Desk providing daily information to lawyers and litigants would be launched shortly. He directed that work on e-Courts, LED display systems, e-paper books and other technological initiatives be expedited.The Chief Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan reiterated his resolve to further expand the use of technology at the Supreme Court to ensure timely, accessible and transparent judicial services for lawyers and litigants.
