MIRPUR (AJK) — September 6, 2026:* Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Azad Jammu Kashmir Women’s Wing for Mirpur district, Dr. Shaista Chaudhry, has described September 6 as a “golden day” in Pakistan’s history, paying tribute to the armed forces for their role in defending the country.

Addressing a gathering of women at her residence on Sunday on the occasion of Pakistan Defence Day, Dr. Chaudhry said the day commemorates the courage and sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces, including the Pakistan Air Force, which she said gave a strong response to India during the 1965 war.

She said Pakistan’s armed forces had demonstrated courage, professionalism and determination in defending the country, adding that their sacrifices had become an important part of Pakistan’s national history.

Referring to the most recent Pakistan-India conflict, Dr. Chaudhry said that Pakistan, under the leadership of Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, responded to what she described as Indian aggression through Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.

She said the operation demonstrated Pakistan’s modern defence capabilities, technological preparedness and professional military skills, which, she maintained, presented a new example in contemporary warfare.

The PML-N leader said the recent conflict had further strengthened the Pakistani nation’s spirit of patriotism, unity and solidarity.

She emphasised that the Pakistani nation holds the sacrifices and services of its armed forces in high esteem. The martyrs who laid down their lives in defence of the country, she said, would always be remembered with reverence and respect.

Dr. Chaudhry said the courage and commitment of Pakistan’s soldiers and officers remain a source of pride for the nation.

She also paid tribute to the families of military personnel and martyrs, saying their sacrifices and resilience form an important part of the country’s national spirit.

“The brave soldiers and officers of the Pakistan Army are a source of pride for the nation, while the sacrifices of the personnel and officers of the armed forces will continue to serve as a guiding light for generations to come,” she concluded.
