MIRPUR ( AJK): Sept 21: Former Secretary to the Government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Chaudhry Khursheed Ahmed passed away and was laid to rest at F-1 Central Eidgah graveyard here on Monday.
A large number of prominent political, judicial, administrative and government figures, serving and retired officials, lawyers, journalists, community elders, relatives and citizens attended his funeral prayers.
Acting AJK President and Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Chaudhry Tariq Farooq, PPP AJK President Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin, former AJK Supreme Court Chief Justice Justice (retd) Azam Khan, former ministers Masood Khalid, Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed and Chaudhry Muhammad Akhlaq, and former government adviser Chaudhry Muhammad Ashraf were among the prominent attendees.
Commissioner Mirpur Division Raja Tahir Mumtaz Khan, DIG Kamran Ali, Deputy Commissioners Mirpur and Bhimber Chaudhry Sajid Aslam and Chaudhry Tariq, SSP Mirpur Khurram Iqbal, senior serving and retired officials, lawyers, journalists and other dignitaries also attended.
Speaking on the occasion, Acting AJK President and Speaker Chaudhry Tariq Farooq said the deceased was a person of outstanding qualities whose services would always be remembered. He expressed deep grief over his death and conveyed condolences to the bereaved family.
PPP AJK President Chaudhry Muhammad Yasin and other speakers also paid tribute to Chaudhry Khursheed Ahmed, saying his valuable services at various important positions in the AJK administration would always be remembered.
The participants offered prayers for the departed soul and expressed condolences and solidarity with the bereaved family.
