Moscow, December 23 (QNA) – The Russian Ministry of Defense announced Monday that its forces have taken control of a new town in eastern Ukraine, as part of the ongoing military operations in the region.
In a statement, the ministry reported that its troops had captured the town of Storozhevoy in the Donetsk region, eastern Ukraine, and had improved their positions along the frontline in that area.
The Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine remains a strategic focal point for Russian military operations amidst the ongoing conflict with Ukraine, which has been escalating since February 2022.
Moscow has reiterated its commitment to continue its military operations until its objectives are achieved, while Ukraine demands the withdrawal of Russian troops from all its territories. This has further complicated the security and humanitarian situation, exacerbating the overall conflict.
