Sohni Dharti Forum Celebrates Pakistan Independence Day with Enthusiasm in Al Khor Community

Sohni Dharti forum Al Khor organized a colorful event on 14th August to celebrate Pakistan Independence Day. This day is observed annually on 14 August, which is national holiday in Pakistan, commemorating the day when Pakistan achieved independence and was declared a sovereign nation following the end of British Raj in 1947.

The ball room in Al-Waha Club was filled with large numbers clad in traditional Pakistani dresses in particular the children presented a great sight with their adorable green & white dresses. The event started by Sohni Dharti Vice president Mr. Umar Khayyam who after extending his warm greeting to the audience paid tribute to national heroes and freedom fighters. The program hosted young Sohni Dharti future leader presenters, Abdullah Anwar, Azaan Baig, Mosaddeq Atif, M.Ayyan, Hanzla Imran, Muhammad Mohsin, Simra and Manahel Talib. The event formally kicked off with the singing of Pakistan national anthem prepared by children which gave goosebumps to everyone in the hall. Qari Rahim Uddin, renowned for his soulful recitation warmth the hearts of audience with his Qirat.

Anwar Ali Rana, Chairman Sohni Dharti welcomed all the audience and chief guests of the honor in celebration. He thanked all the participating children, their parents and the ladies who prepared children to perform in various Teblo. A colorful show was presented by Sohni Dharti children. The program witnessed 5 different tabloo, Urdu speeches, patriotic songs (mili nagma) and much more.

The special performances from the children were prepared by Mrs. Anwar Ali Rana and Mrs. Mumtaz Khan on various themes. The very first performance aimed at paying tribute to our armed forces. Kids performed on big stage by donning army uniform and received the big appreciation by the audience. The other performances were design at promoting peace, harmony, and love for our own country. The children rocked the stage with their dazzling performances to win many hearts and big claps from the audience. The audience was stuck in awe at seeing the fabulous performances and colorful dresses the children wore.

Hamnah Khalid and Manal Khurram sung famous Milli Naghama or patriotic songs in their melodious and mesmerizing voices and got the warm round of applause from the audience. Millinaghma or patriotic songs are the way to boost the spirit of national day. The atmosphere in the ball room went lively with the common but evocative songs we all know and love.

A cake cutting ceremony was also organized to celebrate Pakistan defense day. A beautiful, customized cake arranged for the special occasion was cut by Sohni Dharti team along with the honorable chief guests. Chief guest of the event Miss Samreen Nadeem Samar, a very famous Pakistani poet in Qatar expressed her cheerfulness the way kids performed and congratulated all the participants. She also expressed her thanks and satisfaction to Sohni Dharti team for organizing such a beautiful Pakistan Independence Day program. Mr. Sohail from SUNDAR Trading Company and Mr. Iqbal Butt, the owner of Shan-e Lahore the famous Pakistani restaurant also graced the event with their kind presence. All participating children were awarded with gift hampers as a token of appreciation.  Chairman Sohni Dharti Mr. Anwar Ali Rana thanked all the children, parents, chief guests, volunteers, members of executive & organizing committee Mr. Zafar Chandio, Mr. Umar Khayyam, Mr. Mohsin Ali, Mr. Masood Uddin, Mr. Javed Alvi, Mr. Ghulam Farid and specifically Mrs. Anwar Ali Rana and Mrs. Mumtaz for their efforts in making this event such a successful one and big hit.

The event concluded with a lavish dinner and ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ slogans.
