3rd Pakistani Mango Exhibition Opens at Souq Waqif with Record Participation

DOHA: The 3rd Pakistani Mango Exhibition and Its Products opened on Thursday evening at the Eastern Square of Souq Waqif with the participation of diplomats business leaders media representatives and community members.
The opening ceremony was inaugurated by Mr Abdulrahman Mohammed Al Naama representative of the Private Engineering Office in the presence of H.E. Muhammad Aamer Ambassador of Pakistan to Qatar along with ambassadors members of the diplomatic corps and media representatives including Mrs Kübra Göksu wife of the Ambassador of Türkiye to Qatar.
Organized by the Celebrations Committee at the Private Engineering Office in cooperation with the Embassy of Pakistan in Qatar the exhibition will continue until July 18 2026. It remains open daily from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM in a fully air-conditioned venue at Souq Waqif.
Guests visited pavilions featuring Pakistan’s famous mango varieties mango-based products seasonal fruits and traditional cuisine. This year’s edition is the largest since its launch with more than 30 Pakistani and local companies and over 30 restaurants and food exhibitors participating.
Visitors can enjoy varieties including Sindhri Chaunsa White Chaunsa Anwar Ratol Dusehri and Fajri along with other Pakistani fruits such as apricots peaches jamun and chikoo.
Pakistan Ambassador to Qatar Muhammad Aamer thanked the Souq Waqif Organization and the Government of Qatar for supporting the exhibition for the third consecutive year.
He said Pakistani mangoes have a unique position worldwide while other Pakistani fruits are also known for their exceptional sweetness and quality. He added that the Government of Pakistan and the Embassy are working to introduce Pakistani fruits in Qatar and promote awareness about Pakistan’s agricultural heritage and culture.
The Ambassador said such initiatives support economic growth promote cultural diplomacy and strengthen people-to-people relations between Pakistan and Qatar. He expressed confidence that this year’s exhibition would receive a greater response noting that last year around 239 tonnes of mangoes were sold.
Mr Khalid Saif Al Suwaidi General Supervisor of the exhibition said the event continues to expand every year in terms of participation product diversity and public interest.
He said cooperation with the Embassy of Pakistan has helped bring a premium selection of Pakistan’s finest mango varieties for visitors. He highlighted that Pakistan is the world’s fifth-largest mango producer with annual production exceeding 1.8 million tonnes.
Al Suwaidi said the exhibition is not only a marketplace but also a cultural and culinary experience introducing visitors to Pakistan’s mango heritage varieties and innovative products. He invited residents and visitors to explore the exhibition and enjoy the finest Pakistani mangoes at Souq Waqif.
